    Select Criteria:
    Abdominal obesity (male waist > 40 in ; female waist > 35 in) (1 point)
    Triglycerides >= 150 mg/dL or on TG lowering Rx (1 point)
    HDL cholesterol (male < 40; female < 50) or on HDL improvement Rx (1 point)
    Blood pressure >=130/>=85 or on BP Rx (1 point)
    Fasting glucose >= 100 mg/dL or on Glu lowering Rx (1 point)
    Results: Total Criteria Point Count:
    Metabolic Syndrome
    0-2 Points:Absent
    3-5 Points:Present
    This criteria set was proposed by the American Heart Association and the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute.
