When This Medicine Should Not Be Used: This vaccine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to typhoid vaccine, or if you have a fever or weak immune system. |
How to Use This Medicine: Capsule, Delayed Release Capsule - Your doctor will tell you how much medicine to use. Do not use more than directed.
- The usual schedule is to take 1 dose of this medicine every other day. Follow the schedule your health caregiver tells you.
- Take this medicine with cold or lukewarm liquid 1 hour before a meal.
- Swallow the extended-release capsule whole. Do not crush, break, or chew it.
- You must use this medicine on a fixed schedule. Call your doctor or pharmacist if you miss a dose.
- Store this medicine in the refrigerator at all times. Do not freeze.

Drugs and Foods to Avoid: Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. - Some foods and medicines can affect how this vaccine works. Tell your doctor if you have recently received any of the following:
- Antibiotic, including a sulfonamide (sulfa drug)
- Any treatment that weakens the immune system, such as cancer medicine, radiation treatment, or a steroid
- Proguanil

Warnings While Using This Medicine: - Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have diarrhea, vomiting, or digestive problems.
- You still need to avoid water or food that might spread an illness. This medicine does not protect against all bacteria.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.

Possible Side Effects While Using This Medicine: Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects: - Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor: - Headache
- Stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
