When This Medicine Should Not Be Used:
You should not use this medicine if you have had an allergic reaction to polyethylene glycol, or if you have signs of a bowel obstruction (nausea, vomiting, stomach pain or bloating).

How to Use This Medicine:
Powder, Liquid, Packet

  • Your doctor will tell you how much of this medicine to take and how often. Do not take more medicine or take it more often than your doctor tells you to. This medicine is not for long-term use.
  • Always dissolve the powder in a full glass (8 ounces) of water, juice, soda, coffee, or tea before swallowing it. If you need to measure your medicine, use a marked measuring cup or spoon.
  • Measure the oral liquid medicine with a marked measuring spoon, oral syringe, or medicine cup.
  • It may take 2 days or longer for this medicine to help you have a bowel movement.

Drugs and Foods to Avoid:

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.


Warnings While Using This Medicine:

  • Make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Do not use this medicine longer than 2 weeks unless your doctor has told you to.

Possible Side Effects While Using This Medicine:
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:

  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in face or hands, swelling or tingling in the mouth or throat, tightness in chest, trouble breathing.
  • Severe stomach pain, bloating, vomiting, or diarrhea.

If you notice these less serious side effects, talk with your doctor:

  • Mild cramps, bloating, diarrhea, or gas.

If you notice other side effects that you think are caused by this medicine, tell your doctor.
