When This Medicine Should Not Be Used:
This medicine is not right for everyone. You should not receive it if you had an allergic reaction to ioflupane or iodine.

How to Use This Medicine:
Injectable

• A doctor or other trained health professional will give you this medicine. This medicine is given through a needle placed in one of your veins just before you have a SPECT scan.
• You will need to urinate right away and as often as possible for 48 hours after you receive this medicine. Drink plenty of fluids before and after you receive this medicine so you will urinate more often.

Drugs and Foods to Avoid:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using any other medicine, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products.

• Some medicines can affect how this medicine works. Tell your doctor if you are using amoxapine, amphetamine, benztropine, bupropion, buspirone, citalopram, cocaine, mazindol, methamphetamine, methylphenidate, norephedrine, paroxetine, phentermine, phenylpropanolamine, selegiline, or sertraline.

Warnings While Using This Medicine:

• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or have kidney disease.
• Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding. You may be told to pump and discard your breast milk for up to 6 days after you receive this medicine.
• While receiving this medicine, you will be exposed to radiation. If you have any questions about this, talk to your doctor.

Possible Side Effects While Using This Medicine:
Call your doctor right away if you notice any of these side effects:

• Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
• Pain, itching, burning, swelling, or a lump under your skin where the needle is placed

If you notice other side effects that you think are caused by this medicine, tell your doctor.
